Let’s take a moment to celebrate 75 years of
our independence. In 2022, IMF has
projected India’s economy to reach $3.53
Trillion and overtake Britain’s $3.38
Trillion. This essentially will confirm
India as of the one of the top five global
economies by size. The freedom that we enjoy
thanks to our stable democracy and strong
national institutions, including of course
our police and defense forces, must not be
taken for granted. In fact, it needs to be
appreciated even more, considering the
events in Ukraine.
On the global front, Europe had been under a
severe heat wave with wildfires raging
across multiple countries. As per media
reports, Europe’s wildfires in 2022 have
nearly quadrupled the fifteen-year average!
It’s pertinent for businesses to focus on
sustainability as one of the business
processes going forward!
Last but certainly not the least – let’s
celebrate the appointment of the 15th
President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. As
the second Indian woman president and the
first from the tribal community
(constituting 8.6% of India’s population),
her achievement must encourage scores of
Indians to dream big, and appreciate the
diversity and inclusiveness of our great
nation.

Laqshya Media eyes Rs 1,000 cr
topline by 2025 as OOH market
recovers post-Covid
Laqshya Media Group, one of India’s
leading out-of-home (OOH) companies,
is targeting a turnover of Rs 1,000
crore by 2025, as markets have shown
strong signs of recovery across all
segments.
Speaking about the industry growth,
Alok Jalan, Managing Director,
Laqshya Media Group said, “OOH
market has recovered, and we are
almost at a pre-pandemic level in
terms of revenue, maybe 85-90%. We
are targeting Rs 1,000 crore topline
by 2025 and a growth rate of 20-25%
CAGR over the next few years. We may
look at some fundraising in the near
future, or we may look at the
listing of the company in a couple
of years, depending on where we are
at that point of time and what kind
of requirement we have. Currently,
the revenue split is 80:20 in OOH
and other businesses, and we want to
change that. So, we also look at
combining these three services for
any client because that also creates
a lot of value.
We have our presence in Mumbai,
Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and
Delhi and we want to consolidate our
presence in these markets first. The
number of sites today is not very
important, but the quality of sites
is. As we move forward, our strategy
is to either have dominance or
exclusivity because that is how you
can create value for an advertiser
also.”
